The Details:

Dog Parkour is meant to be a fun and safe activity you can enjoy almost ANYWHERE with your Canine Companion. It’s a great thing to do with friends but also fun independently. This is our Fourth time holding the Calgary Dog Parkour Scavenger hunt, and this hunt will be focused on easy creative fun for your four legged companion and you to survive the rest of winter!

As we do each year, we want to give you even more incentive to get out and play with your dog while we celebrate the life of a parkour loving girl – Charlotte. This Scavenger hunt will be PACKED with loads of fun and opportunities to learn and grow in this sport with your team.

For this hunt each team will receive their list of things to check off via email and will submit their images via a google form. Obstacles / challenges are very open ended and we welcome creativity – making this hunt accessible to anyone with internet access and a camera!

Once you have registered feel free to ask to join our Facebook group: Calgary Dog Parkour. There is no requirements to join the group, but it is fun to share photos and your parkour journey.

Submit your photos via the google forms link posted on this page and emailed to you with the hunt list.

How to Play Details:

Below is a step by step –

1) Receive your hunt list.

2) Find obstacle that “best describes” the objective on the list. Photograph your dog performing the task. *Note: photos are not expected to be perfect as some tasks might be harder to truly photograph than others, but for example the photo should not be of the dog going under an object when the task is an over*

3) Submit your photos. Collect your photos throughout the hunt and submit them before the end date via the Google Form.

4) Share & Enjoy with Friends!

*Important note: any questions/concerns or technical difficulties should be directed to Hello@pawsnrelax.net . I will attempt to answer within 48 hours but will not be answering fb messages, or other communication means in regards to this hunt. I also will not verify photos or videos etc. *

I look forward to hearing all your adventure stories about the hunt. Feel free to talk about silly or extra fun side adventures on the Calgary Dog Parkour page, or on your own social media page.

The Rules:

Parkour is a TEAM sport. This means dogs must be worked on appropriate equipment at all times (back clip harness and 6 ft leash). The only exception in which the dog may be off leash (or leash dragging) is for under or around in SAFE environments.
Spotting must be used when appropriate to do so – for this contest you can assume anything your dog is getting off of that is above elbow height needs to be spotted (under 18 months teams should be spotted on anything over stopper pad height). Check out about spotting here and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
No Repeats – Obstacles you find/use can only be used for ONE item on the list. Any repeated obstacles will not be counted.
No Aversive Tools – use of aversive tools will forfeit your entry, this includes having aversive tools on during your photos.
No manipulation or force – like aversive tools, manipulating or forcing your dog to do the behaviour will forfeit your entry. Both members of the team (dog and handler) should be willing participants. Lifting, pulling or forcing your dog in other ways to complete any behaviours will deem your whole entry void.
Participants – This Scavenger hunt is open to everyone to play that has means for photographs and access to using a google form.
It is not expected that teams will finish ALL the tasks !
One of Charlotte’s favorite parts of parkour was going out and exploring new areas. Because of this, I challenge you all to explore a bit outside of your comfort zone when able to.
