Dog ownership can be a frustrating but rewarding experience. There is a huge learning curve when it comes to communicating with a completely different species. It may feel like you are always walking the fine line of full filling your dogs needs and attempting to create the companion you have envisioned spending your life with. Janilee started her dog training journey when she took home her first dog; Fuzz, in 2007. Before this she grew up surrounded with many family dogs, but nothing is quite the same than the dog who relies solely on you to survive and thrive. Two years following Fuzz, Charlotte came into the picture as a slightly over exuberant puppy whom was purchased to make Fuzz feel more comfortable about life in general.
Both dogs molded Janilee into a trainer who understands life with fearful and reactive dogs. They lead her on a journey of mistakes and rewards helping to form the knowledge base she has now.
Janilee currently holds her CBATI-KSA, CPDT-KSA, DCBC certifications and is also a Certified Trick Dog Instructor and Certified Dog Parkour Instructor. She believes in continuing to grow and learn through science based knowledge and because of this she strives to continue her education as often as possible.
Formal competitions is something she never saw herself achieving and yet her third dog Fleur has ignited a new interest when it comes to clear and precise competition worthy training. Her newest dog Polar has continued with this exciting trend.
Janilee trains with her dogs for multiple sports such as rally obedience & formal obedience, dog parkour, nosework, tricks, disc, weight pull, scent hurdle and agility. She also loves road trips, hiking and exploring the world with her canine companion.
I have noticed a HUGE difference in my dog’s behaviour and my own. She is an absolute gem for showing me how to be a better dog owner and how to make sure my dog is well on his way to becoming a model dogizen! Words cannot describe how thankful I am for meeting Janilee and to have her help me when I was not expecting help and or really wanting it.
